right, here's my latest project. it's mine & the missus's run about. we brought it a couple of years ago off ebay, £200 with 10 months mot & 4 months tax. smoked it about for a couple of years but finally though it's time to tidy it up (& mk3 it whilst im at it)
this is what it lookes like when we got it


looked & drove hiddious. so changed the wheels & lowered the back. kinda looked slightly better (but not much ) this is how it stayed till now


had loads of garden slabs in on the top pic lol
now this is the mk3ing process

yes it is gonna be a rs1600i rep. got some 7 spokes now need a front spoiler. thinking about badging it as a rs1800d. will get some more pics up soon.

thought i'd do some painting at this point so doors & bonnet rubbed down

thats the finish out of the gun. there's some crap in the paint but hopefully should compound out

this is weird!! im doing the exact same thing!! my one goes in to paint next weeknd, in sunburst!! even retro fitted a A plate to it! but mines a 1800 zetec!!

lol. snap. alot of people told me to do mine sunburst, but im not to keen on the colour. have you got a resto thread of yours? looks cool. rekon it would be funny to see them parked next to each other at the shows

 

the mk3's are taking over lol. the pannel makers wont understand why there now selling so many mk3 panels

now starting to paint it. the missus helped me flat the primer down bless her. gotta paint it in bits as my garage isnt really big enough to get comfortably round it. so far done the roof scuttle panel & rear door shut & panel

i live just down the road oposite the alotments near the speed camera jobbie.

(theres a rusty white 90 spec RST in a million bits up the drive)

cheers.no its not my job, i drive a lorry. its a bit trial & error with the paint. main problem is all the crap & dead bugs on the paint but most of it should polish out (i hope)

its only a 50 litre & i think its a 1.5hp motor but it does the job fine. runs an impact gun fine but has a little trouble keeping up with the air sander (just runs a little slow) think there about £120 new
