Default what oil should i use for road and trackdays?

as above, what oil should i use in my cossie? its got a 4,000 mile engine in it (so not too much wear and tear)...... the oil i'm using makes the engine sound like a tractor after a 20 mins of flat out driving....leave it running to cool down etc and it goes quiet again.. any suggestions? cheers tony

Hi Tone, I use Silkolene Pro S 10W-50. Should be okay for the odd trackday too, but if in doubt the Oilman ( http://www.opieoils.co.uk/ ) can advise...

What have you got in it at the minute?

Hope you're well

Castrol is famous for losing it's viscosity like this.
Use Silkolene pro s, and fitr a stat oil cooler if doing track days again, as oil is obviously roasting, remember the oil is always around 30/40C hotter than the water and does as much cooling.
