Depends on the wheels offset and size of the caliper and how its mounted I reckon Tony. Tricky one...

yes they will mate
disc offset will need to be deeper to clear the mos as the not very caliper freindly as the older mos or raclines due to the gay turned in spoke hitting the caliper
i recenty fitted 315s to a rst using mondy road rims and they cleared easlery
hope this helps

Thanks guys.

Lee - Martin is going to make me some brackets and bells for your old wheels, ET40. I want a set of 16's for track with some slicks on. If I stick to the same offset for the 16's would they go?

I don't really want a higher offset, the 17's stick in enough as it is.

You mean lower offset!! LOL. The higher the number, the further under the car they will sit.

Are your Mo's 7x17? My 7x17 Pro Race wheels were ET35, so would have sat slightly further out than your Mo's, if they are the same size. I reckon you will struggle with ET40, especially if they are not particularly good in terms of caliper clearance. My current wheels are also ET35 and are 7x16 and I had to use a 5mm Spacer (actually only needed 3mm). The AP Calipers are a VERY similar shape to the Brembo's.

Also, if you go for a 16", it will need to be a 7x16 to be comparable in terms of offset.

As others have said, it really depends on the offset of the Bells and Caliper Brackets. You can put a deeper offset on the bell, make the caliper to suit and gain yourself a little that way. You don't have ultimate flexibility, but may gain a few mm's.

Tony,
Providing you order the wheels with the correct size and offset, you won't have a problem.

I would say that 7½ x 16 ET 37 would be okay, but I would have to check first.

But IMO 7 1/2 on an RST is pants. This would mean running 215 tyres. They are bad enough on 205's.

Then you would need to get 7s with an offset that would put the outside of the wheel in the same place as the ET37 7½s...

Mike, what are Mo's like generally in terms of caliper clearance?? Are they better or worse than a 'normal' Alloy wheel??

Better than "most", due to their Motorsport designed nature.

OK, I figured that because they are designed to be strong more than light, that they might be 'chunkier' on the spokes.

My 7x17" Pro Race 1's were ET35, but they had a good design for Caliper clearance. They cleared my Brembo's/330's by a mile.

My 7x16" Pro Race 2's were also ET35, they have a design that isn't much different to a 'normal' Alloy Wheel and I had to use a small spacer to clear the brakes. I also have to have the wheels balanced often as the calipers knock the balance weights off!!

Another idea, will Compomotive provide cross sectional working drawings of their wheels??

I found most of that quite confussing lol. I see what you are both saying.

But would it be easier if I sold my 17's to get some ET35 wheels, then the bell and bracket would be made for that offset (for the road) then when I put the 16's on, I stick with the same offset, or lower to bring them out more???

I was actually thinking of 16 x 8 wheels with a nice wide slick Either a MO, or a set of Monte wheels. Damo is pretty sure that he could get 330's behind his wheel, but the weights would have to be moved.

Mr C - I know what I mean lol

I mean lets face it... I will probably only use these wheels a few times a year anyway.
