Default can you have too much oil pressure?

just wondering about this,

looking at oil pump for new engine..

but its claiming the pump will raise the oil pressure to

6.5 bar/90 odd psi (relief valve opening i am guessing)

apart from it wanting to blow all the seals out of the engine, lol
what are the other downsides to having such high oil pressure??

thanks!

Loss of power is one as it takes power to produce pressure, so only needs to be enough and no more.

hi, over pressure will force oil into areas that will do you no favours!!

thanks guys..

what would you view as 'enough' oil pressure??

for an average 16v twin cam engine..

or is it properly different from one engine to another

It depends on what oil and mainly what use it is to be put to, some will be fine with 25psi, some will need 75psi.
