for some reason when sitting on a dual carriageway a little above that legal number but not foot to floor- kinda just holding +boost pressure and maintaining speed my water temp guage goes really low

it goes from normal range to below the actual bottom bit as if its suddenly gone mega cold
any ideas- goes back into normal range when i slow down or stop quite quickly aswell
never use to do it, any ideas wots causing it??

 

Thermostat stuck open?

 

could be, only recently put a new spring and clip etc in it when i rebuilt her 500miles ago so thats quite annoying- one thing to check- any more suggestions

 

Sure it's not just a dodgy/loose wire on the sensor

 

Probably a 78/82 deg thermostat + autumn coming.

 

so others peeps r sturbos do this- just never seen it before, if its nothing to worry bout i'll leave it

 

used to do it on my old s2 running a chargecooler, needle sat right near the bottom normally, dropped a bit when i gave it some beans... thought it was strange!! seemed fine tho...
