quick answer needed-S1 TURBO ENGINE.
Dude. Go to a hire shop and get a crane or come to me and borrow mine foir a start.
It will need to come out the top. you will need to jack the box up a tad and then remove the engine.
Make sure you take out the rad etc.. Very easy to damage it.. If you have a S1 the last thing you want to damage is the rad.
Hope that helps
Regards
Jano

yeah try and get an engine hoist disconnect all the wires pipes etc connected to your engine take off the starter motor take all the bolts off securing your gearbox to your engine take some weight of your engine with the hoist and take off the bolts that go into the back of your block through the engine mount and take off the bottom pulley on your engine the one that your alternator belt goes on once thats off its just a case off edging your flywheel out of the gearbox and lifting it out its very simple takes a couple of hours good luck

stuff taking the motor out alone
done it many times already on my own with a chain block
leave the motor and box together and lower onto the ground , lift the body up and slide the motor/box out
when refitting , leave the head off and fit to box
fit two old head bolt into headbolts holes set second from end at no4 with a chain through
lift into the body , this way you dont stuff up your other parts or paint and it makes doing the head up a piece of piss
i didnt spend hours sandblasting my bay to stuff it up with a motor install
