what gains will i get putting an uprated cam only in a standard xr2 ('87), just looking for that little bit more.

My dad had a 80 xr3 so basically same, he changed the exhaust system, for a Janspeed, made a world of difference, so good gains to be had here, with a cam it should rev a lot freer at the top end as well.

what about uprated valve springs? will i need them? are the double ones uprated or can you get uprated single springs (the ones that come with a cam kit)?
