Default frst help please

hi was just wondering

1. do these cars burn off quite alot of oil

2. do they use a bit of water and need topping up quite regular

3. am i right that a t2 is supposed to run at 7 psi which is approx 0.5 bar what could i push it to safely or what do i need to do to run higher boost and approx how high

just like to say any help will be greatly appreciated and anything anyone would like to add that may be handy to know feel free really trying to learn as much about my frst so i dont get frustrated and bored like previous cars as i really do love my frst and want to make it really mint and relatavely reliable thanks again

right....depending on the engines age it will burn a bit of oil or leak some...they do tend to do it from new as well ...water can leak from the tinniest of places so you might find you need to top up but not see it leaking....the t2 runs at 7psi from standard ,if you want to run a little bit more you can..would go more than 10 psi with out chipping the ecu...boost gauges are...'you get what you pay for' im affraid...buy a cheap one and it wont last fiive minutes...buy the most exspensive one you can afford for piece of mind ...hope this helps..

mines fairly standard and on 90,000 miles....... i regularly check my oil and water, oil hardly ever needs topping up although in the warm weather i am topping up the water quite often. i have just replaced the header tank cap which has helped a lil. oil wise i use mobil 1 15w 50 which i think is what most people put in their rs turbo's & cossie's. worth checkin your service history and see if a specific oil has always been used as it may upset the engine if you all of a sudden start using a different oil to what its always been run on (if this is the case). plus fairly regular oil and filter changes help keep them happy every 3-4000 miles or so is about the norm i think. hope this helps!
