replaced my rocker cover with chrome one yesterday,only gasket i could find was a cork one? did have a rubber one on,anyway was racing 2day and could smell oil,opened bonnet and oil was pissing out? think its from the rocker cover,has everyone else used a rubber gasket on the frst????

 

Yes. It's fucking shit. Tried a couple of different ones on my Escort and FRST and they always leak like cunts. Went back to a cork one and et voila no more leaks and the oil is staying where it's sposed to be

 

never had any luck with cork ones so put a rubber one on and never had a problem

 

yeah im using an 1800 sierra rubber gasket on mine at the mo, seems to do alrite and they are reuseable aswell

 

I have always had a cork one and i cunt my FRST all over the shop with no problems.....well, where the rocker gasket is concerned anyway

Got a replacement engine from Just Affords!

Just honestly couldnt face another few days getting wound up doing an engine swap for i fired it off to my pal Neil@ Stonehenge recovery


Engine is now fitted, supposed to be a good one too Just waiting on a couple of connections and i'll have it back (end of this week, easy)


Got all my fuel cell, lines and connections. Need a base plate my pal Kev (madyeti) is sortin me out there


and i'll be up and running again.


Really wanna commission a silly engine build for track use but i'm skint, the Mk1 is costing me a bomb at the moment.


It's lean times where funds are concerned but they are both progressing nicely!


really tempted to rush the frst and take it round combe.....as punishment for being a little bitch!
