anythinkg on a b*starding peugeot... its all star keys and strange sizes... anything on a ford is easy compared... took me and a mate about 2 hours to replace both wishbones, steering rack & track rod ends about 2 hours to do... took me and him 7 hours to replace the front springs on my 106...

if you glue the half moon seals in on a cvh gasket then they dont dislodge when you refit the sump and piss oil all over the place, works every time

Tell me about it, I did mine 3 times last week T.W.A.TING thing

I ended up using this stuff on both side of the gasket and worked a treat, it's like rubber when it goes off, But i did leave it 24 hours before putting oil in.

Cost about Ł4.

on the sierra the clutch ratchet, the steernig column bush, heater matrix and the rack on a 4wd car tend to big bastard jobs
the only thing worse is the pin on th ebox on the 4wd cars as it's quicker to drop the box

on the mondeo, it's everything

paceo Use the stuff i used, as looking at your sump it'll be a 1 piece black rubber gasket, not the early 4 piece 2 cork, 2 orange rubber type.

served my time in a ford rs dealer 89 - 94 so you could say ive done a few, this was how i was taught how to do the sump on rs turbo,s, the inner gasket that is near clutch/flywheel would sometimes get dislodged when refitting the sump due to the angle you have to push it in at when the engine is still in the car, glueing this in stops that happening.

yes, managed to get hold of a genuine ford item, only reason the sump is off is becuase im having my oil return welded into the sump for 100% better drainage as the t2 return is shit.

did you only seal the half moon sides on the end?

the inner part you mean the side of the gasket closest to the oil in the sump?
