Default Silicone hose for turbo oil return

I was under the impression that you couldn't use any old silicon hose as the oil would eat away at it but somebody has told me they were advised otherwise.

What's what then?

you are under the correct impression
It's not the oil that eats into it, it is those nasty products of combustion that are suspended in the oil

Cheers.

Apparently the guy was told teh standard Ford one was pants and didn't last that long (I've never seen one fail outside of stupid jubilee clip use).

He has also said that the specialist hose company told him it would be fine. I have my suspicions that the company sold him what they had rather than what was right.

Don't want to argue with the guy as he's a nice chap, just don't want to see him in a potentially oily and expensive mess through poor advice

I've got a Samco hose on mine, it's been on there for about 3 years, I took it off a few months back when i chandeg the turbo and it was fine. It's not a standard samco thought, it's got a black oil resistant lining. Here's a few pics of a spare one i've got.

I bought my turbo drain hose from Roose Motorsport -- the one they supply was blue (or whatever colour you order), but was fluo lined (something like flouoline??) with an Orangey type silicone inside.

Still looks like new on my car.

You deffo need the right hose for that and your breathers - as per Tony above, nasty stuff in your oil!
