i've driven both back to back and there really is no comparison unless the escort is proper properly sorted, and there are very very few that are.

 

...there is of course a difference between 'handling' and ultimate grip.....what do you want the car for? A car designed to handle on ovals or up the drag strip wont handle as well on an english B road or rally course....

 

U can make an Esc cossie handle better than a std evo.

Can u make an Modified Esc Cossie handle better than a modified Evo? Dont know - did a rally esc cossie ever win the championships when evo 6's were rallying at the same time?

You could make the Escort handle as well just look at Gareth Loyds car but the likelyhood of anyone being able to do this is slim but not imposible but likely to run in many thousands.
