anyways,
it says in the performance mag, xr2 standard, 0-60 10plus secs, top speed 99mph? whats with that?

i know my XR2 Standard is alot quicker than that.....

 

What are they...96bhp?

I think they are around 10secs to 60, prob 9.5 though. As for top speed. Not much over 100 is possible

 

Maybe they were refering to the MK1 @84bhp, that's even slower than yours.

it's got the same engine as the XR3, which was 96hp. simple K&N bolt on will see you hit the 100 hp mark with a bit of tuning

 

my xr2 had a 4 branch and k&n and no way did that take seconds to get to 60, and mine had a 4 speed box and would cruise at 90 @ 3k revs. them stats gta b well rong lol unless they timed it using sum old nacker hehe

first thing, alot of fast fords stats are either slightly wrong or plucked out of thin air

and second of all the 1.6 cvh on a carb even in a light car will be slow, it may have been 96bhp when it left the factory 20+ years ago, these days you'd be lucky to see 60ATW
