Anyone know anything about JJ abrams new monster film, I went to see Transformers tonight and it showed the trailer at the beginning, no title just a cool trailer with the statue of liberties ripped off head being thrown down a street in NY filmed by a camcorder

 

I will keep them peeled - seems a great way to advertise a film, certainly caught my attention

 

it seems it is codenamed CLOVERFIELD, some websites are saying it is a Godzilla remake

I am positive it won't be a Godzilla remake, something to do with a different studio owning the copyright or something, would be nice to see something completely new not some rehashing of a shite old film

 

There is also a theory that its a film based on the old computer game 'Rampage'. The Slusho drink makes you turn into a giant monster, just like the old Atari game...

There is a whole load of conspiracy theory stories going on.

Effects certainly look good in the trailer - although the Statue of Liberty head looks a bit iffy to me.

 

Very unlikely it will be a Godzilla remake as like you say as the rights are owned by someone else.
