Default FAO: STU/MSD set-up & chip info pls

Hi mate had a good browse through your website and was wondering how do you go about setting up cosworths (or any car) that has a Chip from another company/manufacturer/tuner?

I mean of course you can still work on them but if my cars been setup and chipped by someone else can i still bring it your place and have it fully setup for optimum and reliable performance?

Do you know/check whats written on the chip or can tell if the current chip is suitable for my car/spec?

Reason is i want to book mine for a set-up (stg3) and would like to know if the chip we'll need changing to one of your Evolution ones or if ill be okay with the one in it

Cheers

Hi,
Its a simple scenario really.

We would do everything listed here as per our normal setup:
http://www.motorsport-developments.c...ginetuning.htm

And once that is all done, verified / rectified, if we still have running issues, maybe leaness at top end etc, we have to refer to teh ecu. What we will normally do is run our own ecu with our own software and do a datalogging run to verify the ecu Inputs are correct and all is fine and if then the probelms are eliminated we know the problem is with your ecu/chip. You can then decide what you wish to do from there. IE take the car away with your 4 page report detailing what problems you have so you can rectify then at your leisure, or take a chip there and then and drive away with the car safe to use hard.
