Here in the Republic we have to pay VRT...Vehicle Registration Tax on any car we import. So Im guessing youre interested buyer is just getting a quote for the tax off the goverment department. To do so he needs certain info,so thats why they're asking you a few extra questions. All the best,Micky
id reckon on somewhere between 4 to 6 thousand euro, its 25 or 28 per cent of what they reckon its worth, the revenue dont work off what you pay for the car , they have their own assesors, its a bastard tax that our goverment are getting taken to court and fined for but they make more from the vrt (vehicle registration tax) than the fines cost
it used to be called a vehicle import tax but they changed it when joining the eu all those years ago, stupid thing is a commercial vehicle is only 50 quid, so tear out the rear seats and cover up the rear windows with alloy to turn it into the first esco cos van

the thing about the vrt and cossies they wont give you a price over the phone you must take the car down to them and then they pick a number from the sky.At the moment its anything between 3.5 and 7k.Taxi's are far cheaper to clear
