Default Car dilemma, sell it/keep it/buy another??

Need some opinions.

Recently got made redundant and have been fortunate enough to walk straight into another decent job. Problem is that the new job requires quite a bit of travelling in my own car (the FRS) which is neither economical or paricularly practical under the circumstances. I've got it up for sale currently but i'm not 100% I want to sell it (idea being I replace it with a decent diesel of some sort and actually make some money out of my mileage allowance )

One option is to keep it and buy something for around £4k for work (part of redundancy money ).
That would mean 4 cars in the house (Cossie will never be sold and wife needs her Focus TDCi for kid etc), won't cost much more to insure another one (i've checked) it just seems a bit daft having 4!

Your thoughts??

I'm thinking Mondeo diesel estate for £4-5k or similar.

I know, I know!

Can't decide what to do. Just had someone ring up possibly coming to view it this weekend, so don't want them to waste a trip if I decide it's staying.

Decided against the Audi, too small for what I need.

Dunno.

Why not let the wife use the FRS and you use the TDCi during the week?
If she's like mine, she won't do that many miles - her nearly 10-year-old Escort still only has 42k on it!
