Apart from being c/c was the S1 grill diffo from the std mk3 esc grill?
Cant rem now if they had multi slats or just a few like the Onion Ghia

 

Orion Ghia grille was the same as S1, other models were different (more slats).

 

i prefer the standard grills over the s1 one



still not sure which one to put back on mine

S1's had the same grill as the Orion's, remember something about the 16i's having a slightly different grill over the standard mk3's but not sure exactly what the difference is, might be extra slats i think.

Can remember someone recently selling one on fleabay and asking a small fortune for it by saying it was a genuine 16i motorsport item

 

Has any one got any pics of the 2 different grills ???

 

I think the difference is "meant" to be some of the supports between the horizontal slats.......BUT its just a tiny detail and it seems to vary from one car to the next.


S1 had a 3 slat grill (same as orion but white obviously)

Std and 16i had a 5 slat grill, black inj moulded plastic finish.


Don't think i can think of any seperate motorsport grill, unless there was a modification carried out by the teams themselves!

Deffo the s1 mate, it wont look the same plus the reason for the 3 slats is for the air feed
