Have used the Tremec TKO for 8 years with no probs. Has been abused at close to 900bhp & will be asked to take more soon . Be assured you wont break it. Zoo did do the conversion but not sure of Broms situation at the mo & the box is cheap.

Mine came from an XJS.

easy to identify as its the only one box that comes with a detachable bell housing.

Its called a 265.

Thru the gears its closer than a T5 but the 5th is slighty longer.

Thanks Euan

What did you have to do to fit it ? ie clutch spline, input shaft diameter into spiggot bearing, input shaft length (spacer plate between box and bellhousing), prop UJ, gearlever position ?

Clutch spline and input shaft fit cossie clutch perfectly.

You will need to mod fron of prop and gear linkage a bit.

I dont do the work myself but the adaptor plate is a spacer too

so to bolt it to the engine, it's as easy as making up an adaptor plate between the box and the bellhousing ? Sounds unusually straightforward. Don't suppose you know the exact thickness of your adaptor plate, do you, or could let me know when you're next under your car ?

I dont but could measure it on my car for you...

Its not as easy as it sounds tho as it needs to be marked and drilled in EXACTLY the right places or it will vibrate like fuck

some additional dowels should take care of the vibration

if you could measure the thickness of your adaptor plate, I'd appreciate it

I mean that the prop wont line up right...even if its off my millimeters it wil shake the car to bits.

I will measure it but will be a week atleast before i see car again.

hi mate

as i have explained in a pm no standard t5 will last at the power your running they will last for so long then they will let go

like i said i could get one full overhauled with brand new sycro's bearings seals but there wont be no piont id be taking the money off you knowing that they wouldn't last

why dont you just buy a TKO 600 and get someone to fit it end of story then that will last

marco
