Hi,

Just polished my car (Red Escort Si) it look great apart from my mirrors and bonnet have faded due to all the sunny weather were having and they look so dull it's annoying me .

I was just wondering if anyone knows the best way to get the colour back to match the rest of the car (without a re-spray) is there anything halfords sell... please help

hi, you will probally have to get it machine polished using a cutting compound i.e megs 80,83 or you could do it by hand hand, some people use g3 cutting compounds lots of hard work though by hard, if it hasen't gone through the clear coat you should get the panel looking as new again with a bit of work.

I used to have a red Si, Had it new and the mirrors went pink within a year. I tried all sorts on it and made no difference. I was told by someone to use T cut delicately as it had ammonia? in it...did the trick straight away!....I am sure that there is an alternative though!

 

If you cant get hold of a machine polisher i would reccomend using menzerna intensive polish and a erman applicator pad. Both can be bought from polished bliss.
