Default Cosworth insurance quotes!!

Hi -

I'm in the process of getting insurance quotes for my esc cos and looking for companys to try any ideas??

The car is pretty modified 450bhp(at some point hopefully )

Fully comp, Limited milage and all mods declared

I would normally use Greenlight but the've come out expensive at £757 and when I called back to say I've had a better quote they UP'ed the price to £777 .

Performance Direct has been the best so far at £690
The Policyshop £727

any ideas of other companys to try?

also what are you paying for insurance on your spec Cosworth?

they do seem good they are in the lead at the moment whats the spec of your car? and they do agreed value too?

I thought Greenlight was gonna be the best as they normally sort my insurance out, but I suppose they get a bit lazy when they have your insurance for a good few years with no claims

the person on the phone told me that under £700 for my spec car is good and I should take it I don't need to be told that less is better

Have you tried speaking to Tony or Neil at Greenlight, as they "may" be able to sort you out. It's ALWAYS best speaking to the top people within any company, as only they will have the authorisation to tweak the quote.

Greenlight have always been good to me .

Greenlight have always been good to me .
I've spoke to Darren first who told me the increase to £777 then to Neil (who I normally speak to) who confirmed it and didn't really have much to say apart from under £700 is good for the power and normally when I ask to speak to Tony he doesn't talk on the phone

They used to be good for me too I've insured my cars recommended friends/family since I was 23ish makes no odds

but either way I'm gonna have to move my insurance now bit shit but hey I've saved £70+quid.

My policy is based on

I'm 29 8+years NCD no points valid but 1 Conviction 6pts sp30 not passed 5years yet. Home owner, garaged overnight, limited milage 5K +security

car is very modded last time the car was insured it was cheaper than this quote

Dan,
Make sure you are being quoted like for like - eg policy excess etc. Saving £70 now won't be much good if you have to make a claim and the excess is more....

Also if you are prepared to take a higher excess (say for example the cheapest quote that you have is based on this), you might find that the Greenlight one would be cheaper as well (if you asked for a higher excess to be applied).

I'm not saying this is the case, but many people forget that when the excess changes, the premium can change significantly as well.

I have a £500 excess and with all mods declared is just under £700 . However, I have a TOTALLY clean licence with all my points being over five years old. I'm also an old fucker approaching 40 and live in deepest darkest Norfolk .

I've just checked the excess from Greenlight in £100 more than the quotes from other companys and they can't increase the excess to reduce the policy price.

As much as I don't want to I think I'm gonna have to move.

Hic wasn't competive either

That really does surprise me that they won't match the quote to keep you, given what you have said above.

I was suprised too - I dunno, I'm not gonna worry about it. As much as I don't want too there are a few other reasons why it would be a good idea to move companys TBH

the cars been off the road for too long and I'm gonna just insure it now

There isnt any customer loyalty any more in insurance, it pays you to switch every year and get the benefits of a new customer.

Mines cheaper than yours with Pace Ward and we have same spec and same other mods

One thing with Pace Ward that I like, is that all mods are covered like for like including on a trackday if you take out the trackday ins.

tried them they won't touch it if the car has been lowered that was a conversation stopper

also tried Pace Ward they couldn't do it either but did advise me to get back to them if I buy a Evo

I think I'm gonna go with Performance Direct TBH

I won't go to Greenlight out of principle now, I've been with them for years and I managed to beat their quote from a company I've never used before.
