Hi -
I'm in the process of getting insurance quotes for my esc cos and looking for companys to try any ideas??
The car is pretty modified
450bhp(at some point hopefully
)
Fully comp, Limited milage and all mods declared
I would normally use Greenlight but the've come out expensive at £757 and when I called back to say I've had a better quote they UP'ed the price to £777
.
Performance Direct has been the best so far at £690
The Policyshop £727
any ideas of other companys to try?
also what are you paying for insurance on your spec Cosworth?

whats the spec of your car? and they do agreed value too?
I thought Greenlight was gonna be the best as they normally sort my insurance out, but I suppose they get a bit lazy when they have your insurance for a good few years with no claims
the person on the phone told me that under £700 for my spec car is good and I should take it
I don't need to be told that less is better
Have you tried speaking to Tony or Neil at Greenlight, as they "may" be able to sort you out. It's ALWAYS best speaking to the top people within any company, as only they will have the authorisation to tweak the quote.
Greenlight have always been good to me

spec is your norm stg3 m8, ap 6pots, retrim, lots of ice and dvd screens.
no one could get near them so they have my vote, just going to go with them for a people carrier i have as the company i use want £409 this year and performance direct can do it for under £200

it also depends on age and ncb, and postcode
mine last year was £650
3 years ncb, i was 26 and the car is stage 3 1992, london postcode
have had my renewal through and its just under £600 (greenlight)
will be making some calls tonight though and will let you know how i get on tomorrow

My policy is based on
I'm 29 8+years NCD no points valid but 1 Conviction 6pts sp30 not passed 5years yet. Home owner, garaged overnight, limited milage 5K +security
car is very modded last time the car was insured it was cheaper than this quote

Dan,
Make sure you are being quoted like for like - eg policy excess etc. Saving £70 now won't be much good if you have to make a claim and the excess is more....
Also if you are prepared to take a higher excess (say for example the cheapest quote that you have is based on this), you might find that the Greenlight one would be cheaper as well (if you asked for a higher excess to be applied).
I'm not saying this is the case, but many people forget that when the excess changes, the premium can change significantly as well.
I have a £500 excess and with all mods declared is just under £700
. However, I have a TOTALLY clean licence with all my points being over five years old. I'm also an old fucker approaching 40 and live in deepest darkest Norfolk

I was suprised too - I dunno, I'm not gonna worry about it. As much as I don't want too there are a few other reasons why it would be a good idea to move companys TBH
the cars been off the road for too long and I'm gonna just insure it now

I won't go to Greenlight out of principle now, I've been with them for years and I managed to beat their quote from a company I've never used before.
Just got mine down massively this week with Adrian flux. Try them mate, theyve definitely got my renewal no problem
I was paying £767 with Asda and Adrian Flux have come up with £539. No claims protected, like for like mod replacements, breakdown cover, and lots more.
