corroded water ways in head and pistons?

Default corroded water ways in head and pistons?

couple of question my head has some corroded water ways
like this will this be a problem this wernt the cause of gasket failure btw
and are these std pistons for 4x4?

i thought my headgasket had gone untill i removed the head to find that the head was severely corroded like yours

so that is more than likely your problem

looks like a fair bit of valve contact on the pistons also.

buy the looks of it thers still a nice chunk left for the firing ring to seal on but for the sake of getting it alloy welded and skimed will only cost you some thing like Ł80 my head was like this

if it can be done i will get that done


i dont know why the valves have touched the pistons slightly as its never been skimmed head etc

always used ant freeze but dont knpw about other owner

the head on my saph was like this, I got it welded at an engine specialist and the car is still going strong now some 7 years later!!
