Prodrive Open Day 14th July 2007 - PICTURES GALORE
Hey all, hope you are well!
Not been online in a while, got myself a new job and has kept me very very busy so haven't really been online nor out with the camera.
I did however get an invite to the Prodrive Open day yesterday at the HQ in Banbury, where Prodrive opened it's gates to the public in a fund raising event.
We were entertained by the Subrau WRC team with mock-up service stops, a tour of the factory where we saw the several stages of the cars being built for Rallies, and also we had an insight into the Aston Martin racing team and the engineering they undertake.
It was a brilliant day, even if you aren't a fan of the Scooby scene, but for Rally fans and Engineers and Motorcar fans it was a great day out.
Chris Atkinson (for those rally fans) will know drives for Subaru, second to Petter Solberg; he was there signing and driving the Subaru WRC into the service before a gearbox was changed and put back in in 6 minutes lol
Anyhow, I won't bore you with every detail, please see some of my picures from the day if it interests you
Dan

nice, looked like a good day out
i've just been to a similar event at the honda f1 factory in brackley - it would have been ok if they had only opened it to 2000 people or something instead of the 5000 that they did. massive queues everywhere

Rich: They had no beer on sale so not sure you wud have enjoyed lmfao
Gus:
The whole of the exhaust is ceramic looking at the underneath of the cars, very smart indeed

The bf and I went to this and had a really good time (along with a healthy dose of sunburn). I wonder how many people climbed into that wire model and posed as if they were driving it?

I went on Sunday and couldn't beleive the information the engineers would tell you
most of it is probably common knowledge but still the best open day i've been too.
All the staff were very open and approachable and were very proud of their work, learnt alot from the staff and also from the latest components they had on show
How does 2.0bar boost on idle with the antilag sound

Agreed, they gave out more information than I would have expected, but as they said to us 'we beleive the right people are here to see it, and afterall they are the ones who follow us around the WRC circuit' - can't argue with that, they all seemed very friendly and top guys
Fair play to Prodrive!
