Default Removing 93 Escos gear knob

someone please help, I cant figure out how to remove the damn thing, is it push or screw fit if so how hard should I be pulling or which way does it unscrew, I feel as though it will break if I try any harder

Mine is a 93 car and i pulled mine off, and yes it feels like your going to pull the linkage off !!!

Does the lift off collar come off too or just the knob

no just the top of the knob,,, and it does take a good pull

just the knob, so you've got to grab it round the knobby bit and yank it

are you going to reuse it?
if not, cut it off with a blade, don't use a hacksaw unles you want to find bits of knob everywehre for the following 3 weeks

almost forgot, cut the top of the knob off and work your way down, then you'll hit the plastic bit that holds it in place, thats the thing you want to remove

I didn't want to cut my knob off -so i just gave it a bloody good hard yank, it took a couple of different positions but in the end it shot off, nearly hit the ceiling too
