looks like you got off lightly m8! when my m8's came up it done he's roof,screen,scuttle panel and both hinges if that makes it any easier for your pain

 

both hinges and scuttle are fucked.

 

and WHO was last to shut the BONNET then

 

i almost had that happen on me cabrio, ended up tieing it down with me shoe laces

yeh it appears to be a problem alright.

 

eyah the catch gets worn and when the chassis flexes it pops the bonnet, or the sprin it too tight and pops it

Did you roof escape damage? I know when Raby did his few years back the bonnet put fook off great dents in it

Unlucky mate.

I've been lucky twice now, once left the bonnet on the catch on my m3 and took it out for a spin, only noticed when I came back. Second time was more scary when I was setting up an AVCR on my Evo 4, came back home after some setting up and saw the bonnet was just on the catch, had 140mph recorded on the AVCR with it like that, what a plonker, lucky though.

You're looking on about Ł100 repair job if only scuttle and bonnet damaged...

Break it for Ł100, you'll spend that on fuel in 4 weeks PMSL

 

Gutted to see that TBH.

I always worry about the bonnet on mine after seeing so many RST's with bonnets flying up at speed. I have replaced the catch, cable, and cable mech just to be on the safe side!

From what i can see of the pics you could prob get that repaired for around Ł200-Ł300 IMO

Exactly why I put pins on my bonnet..... After I put the bad-boy bonnet on there it caught the air even more and you could see it lifting at each side One time on the way home on the M11 it did pop the catch (but only the one you pop from in side the car) and fortuantely didn't get passed the second catch (that you lift from the font) To say I shit myself wouldn't be an understatement

So I decided to fit pins. Didn't want to as I thought it would spoil the lines but thought it was better than having it lift on me..... After a while I grew to like em anyway

 

i know wot your saying mate but i woz going to put it up for sale in a few weeks anyway and that 300quid could be put towards my new motor that i gona be buiding.

Bonnet = Ł60
Scuttle = Ł25

Paint and fitting, not much say Ł70

 

erm depends what aya got, trim 200 to 250, bumpers only sell if 90 spec same as spoilers, engine stuff prob 5000 to750, with out knowing the spec its hard tbh

 

shit sorry to see that aaron. it happended to my rover when i was doing 90mph just had a joint and the fookin bonnet flew up into the screen and hit the roof and broke my sunroof too

i been driving a pug derv the last few months to work and back and the bonnet latch is busted and everytime i take the car above 60mph you can see the bonnet lifting so i only stick to 60mph max now

it does look gay, bonnet pins are as gay as a bad boy bonnet and bumper cutout unless its for proper cooling reasons, not the i wanna look like him effect

not gonna start on the single wiper or the harnesses

only cause you guys pay my wages


i cant see the back but im sure there clear rears too

 

 

Bumper cut out is for cooling reasons,each to their own m8.
