Default mot testers

I have been a tester for about 7-8 years and always worked for the same place(the same place that put me through it)

But want to move so what sort of money should I be looking/asking for?

pm me if you want

suppose you can fail them then fix in the afternoon. We do between 8 and 12 a day which is a lot for a small garage. Do a lot of headgaskets, timing belts etc

i thought since it was computerised you could only do 1 mot per set amount of time, not sure what the time is. Thats what the local garage told me anyway

Same here...around 23k in Leicestershire area. tbh tho I only do the odd mot during the week and a few every other saturday morning. Think I need to get nagging for a pay rise...not had one for 3yrs

rssteve: with one bay you can officialy have 2 mot's logged on at the same time as the mot bay is devided between a ramp (car number 1) and a brake tester/emissions analyser (car number 2)

Thats a shit load of money every day aint it !!!!!!

Just got my wages up to £10 an hour which i suppose is quite good for the area im in but still not fantastic considering have been doing this work for over 20 years !!!!

Dont really do that many mot's in a day, could do 6 or 7 one day then not have any for a few days as busy with other service and repair work or breakdown recoverys.

Some of the perks of the job make up for it though as get to use the ramps whenever i want and get to do my own mot's.
