Default ford prices in the future .......

years ago when i first started buying cars you could get a decent mk1 or mk2 escort with mot for 300 quid, my first car was a mk2 scort for £250.

for 800 you could get a real cracker, remember a lad round here getting a black mk1, bubble arched, caged, quick engine, mint fat minilights for £800 and i still dont think ive seen a nicer looking mk1 scort to this day.

On ebay now even a rotter of a mk1 still goes for 500 quid, anything decent and you are looking two grand upwards and thats without it being an RS.

Do you think in another 10, 15 years time rs turbos and cossies will go up like that or is just a case of inflation, i.e. they havent gone up in value, its just everything has gone up so it just seems like it (except wages )

with so much buftying going on will they not be as hard to come by then as old escorts are now?

Wonder if anyone is thinking about this and is stashing cars away ?, because if youd gone round buying up all the old mk1 escorts for 250 quid back then youd be rolling in it now.

price is inversely proportionate to demand. there is a big demand for mk1's and not many about.

IMO i dont think rst's will have the same interest in them 10 years down the line. cossie's on the other hand ..... already fetching 25k for a mint low miler. in 10 years the value of the tidy ones are bound to appreciate!

ive noticed that for prices for rs turbos go up and down, ive had a look in 4-5 year old mags and some average rs turbos were going for over £4000 and in mags a year on from that theyve gone right down to £1800 for an average one, i think thats when everyone was into jap cars and big bodykits, now the prices of rs turbos are gradually creeping up again ,averaging £2500
