he came home yesterday evening about 6ish, on his crutches with his drugs
still in loads of pain though
he's had 83 staples altogether and his leg is black and blue bless him, he had a PLRI operation, PCL operation and his bone shaved!, 4 cameras went in and they said a PLRI operation is very rare!!
but he pulled through just gotta get over next couple of months of pain now
Make sure he rests properly!!! A mate of mine had his done a month back and last night his springer spaniel belted into him and now he's in agony
Looks like it might be back to sqaure one

Tell him to ask the doc about a "Cryocuff"... its a thing which straps around the knee and is fed by a pipe from a thing which looks like a thermos flask with a pump on it......you fill the flask with ice cubes and water and just top up the cuff now and again with the pump....
It will make a big difference to his recovery time !!.... I think you can hire/borrow/steal them form the hospital...
Cheers

i had one of the cryocuffs - fookin brilliant
really helped bringing the swelling down after my op. the hospital gave me mine - i had to give em a deposit but that was it and got to keep the cuff but the bottle had to go back. it was a private hospital tho

But, for the non-addictive type, try getting hold of a lower doseage of morphine or opium from the GP/Hospital. Worked wonders for my burns pain
