Running a set of 45 Jenvies, they are currently on long ram pipes with no filters, I've been toying with boxing the bodies and then having a big cone filter, conected by hose or alloy pipe or a combination of the two?
I'm thinking that this method would reduce the heat soak? Especially I'f I get it coated with some sort of heat barrier? Locate the filter somewhere near the headlight so there is plenty of cold air feed.
Are there any downfalls to this? The only one I can think of is the airflow or should I say the distance it has to travel, as this is normally a forced induction setup.

any extra cold air in the direction of throttle bodies is a bonus so if you can manage a decent cold air supply then I can't see a problem with heat soak that your probably getting now.
