Default sorry to ask...but tyre size on a 4x4 saff..again

i know it's been asked a trillion times but at the mo i've got 205's and i can go to 215's next time ....but what is the best option for a (road used) 4x4 saff......cos i might get new wheels, depending on how these look when re-furbed.........what wheel sizes do u need to fit different tyres aswell....i'm looking at 17's.............cheers Pete.........

might aswell get a new set of wheels with decent tyres.

17" wheels can have 205 or 215 profile tyres.

you have 205's !?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Thought even PRAMS had wider tyres than that!!!

Do you have trouble with wheelspin if you try and go up a steep hill to slowly?

Do your tyres get stuck in drains???

Do they bother putting a tread pattern on tyres that small or do they just assume they are for a kindergarden toy?

Some Lambos have 335 section tyres on 17's from memory you plum! it depends on widthof wheel!

I run 235's D02 on 8x17' MO's for example

Pete - I used to run 205's on my 7" wide rims...

Now with my comps which are 7.5" wide i run 215's

Change all four otherwise they'll be problems!

Presuming that keeping the std overall diameter is best for handling. I would consider:
8x17 wheels with 225/35 tyres, i don't think you can get closer to the 205/50r15 diameter than that.

iirc Brom (ZOO motorsport) has these on his 3dr (current Ford mag article).
