need to get some brake fluid as my system was completely dismantled so have none in what so ever

how much brake fluid would i need to get and what

dot 4 or 5.1?

as dot 4 i can get in 4 litre tub but 5.1 is only in 1litre bottles

any ideas please or is it one of them where it could be anything due to bleeding the calipers etc

 

from past expierience (grabted not a cozzy but still relevent) you dont use that much fluid... so a 1 litre should be ok!

never used dot 5.1... so im unsure...

 

he's going to need more than a litre if the whole system was drained off

 

Ford spec is SAM-6C9103-A (DOT4) or ESD-M6C57-A (Super DOT4)

 

well i got a 4litre tub of dot 4 as they only had 2 litres of 5.1

should be ok if it boils up ill change it later on but its on a road car so the brakes arnt going to be hammered that much

When I did mine I used less than 1 litre.
I always NOW buy att he time I need it, I used to buy a gallon at a time but came time to use some more it had gone off, so that's why I don't amymore.
