mind you think it had done 80k at least and he done another mod to help oil flow !
surely the cost of a rebuild depends upon the damage done.
I have had T34s rebuilt from 250 to 550 - obviously the 550 rebuild was initially a lot more fucked than the previous as the exh housing was cracked and the penny was also fucked.

Thats true.
However, my fee is a base price.
If something is fucked, ie shaft/bearing housing, wheel etc, then it is added to the price, after the customer has been contacted and the work has been given the go ahead.
This rules out people sending any old shit, and expecting to get a new turbo in return.
As someone stated above, TT was £440 for a 360 rebuild.
But even with new shaft and bearing housing my price is only £15 more than TT
The old saying, you get what ou pay for.
I know of a company that will only replace whats damaged.
So a smoking turbo will cost you £90 to get sorted, but the turbo needs almost the same amount of time to replace rear seal as it does to replace all gaskets, seals and bearings. Cant see the logic myself. Replace the seal for £90, then in 2 months the bearings/other seals/gaskets are fooked. Then obviously it needs to get doen again.
EDIT* ran, £250 sounds about right for a standard rebuild. the price i quoted £315 is for "stage 1" 360 degree bearing kit rebuild.
i was having a new rebuild on the engine PIECE OF MIND !!
Is this the price you charge to rebuild, Sorry Im being dumb...

Sort of understand your point, but i was showing that while the turbo is in bits its cost efficient to have all seals gasket and bearings replaced, rather than JUST the offending item.
