Default TOYO R888'S

What are these tyres like? obviously good in the dry but what about wet performance and wear rate as they are expensive i have 17 x 7 rims so i assume the best size would be 205/40/17 ...any ideas on prices?

regards mark

hi mate

they are the bizz in the dry , in the wet they will put you into a hedge they dont like standing water , they do wear out quickly !! 10,000 miles rolling without wheels spinning

you cant have the best of both worlds very good grip= wears out quick

not so much grip lasts alot longer

if you want a good allround road tyre that gives decent grip and decent in the wet are Goodyear GDS 3 F1's

why would you want too be driving hard in the wet anyway ?

hi marco

I dont why i asked what they are like in the wet as my car has never seen the rain I only cover about 3000 miles a year in the dry with 3 or 4 track days,so these should be perfect I have just bought some new wheels and fancy some new tyres although i am running new eagle f1's now

Hi John

well, to be honest i had a bad day I couldn't run slicks was turned away
i had to go out on the wets good grip but totaly wrecked them

did 2.5 sessions only broke wheels stud , was a mission to get the stud nut out in the end we had to chisale away the abs flange to get the stud out

begining of the 3rd session second lap had vibrating on the front left handside , rose joint came loose

my compressor blew up , had now way of pumping up the tyres

ryan wasn't there baskey was winding me up

it was a great day ,but not for me

get on the phone to martin and ask him what happing with your tyres

I don't think they are bad in the wet at all. Have them on Skyline. Been caught on in Torrential downpours with lots of standing water and they were fine.

Great tyres. Amazing on track. They are very cheap for what they are. They are NOISY thats the onlysmall downside I can think of.
