Default Drilling Near Miss..........

Got Virgin round at mine at the mo installing Digital telly & the guy had to drill a hole through from the lounge to my bedroom to set the box setup (couldnt do it on my plasma at the mo....long story - Denon amp fucked up the other day & it controls my signals to the plasma!)...anyway

How foooookin close is that to the plug socket!!!!!

Bet he couldnt do that again if he tried.......we didnt realise the extension wasnt level with rest of the house - and he'd drilled about 6" in from the corner of the other side too to miss it on purpose!!!!

He nearly left mine with a hell of a shock & nice hairdo to remember the job by!!!!

well you didn't say the drill was still in the hole,

i was looking for a hole not a drill piece, saw that but thought it was a wire or something coming out of the plug socket and going behind the skirting board,

some one else must of thought the same thing, or did i just spend too long down the pub after work

My mums house is like that. I drilled a hole in the corner of the lounge to pass a cable into the hall, when I looked into the hall there was no hole. The walls were obviously so far out that it must have gone into the cavity near the outside wall somewhere. I ended up drilling about another foot over for it just to come out about 3" from the wall. Houses just aren't built very square sometimes.

I used to install systems, and I cant understand why the fuk he's drilled from the outside inwards.

We allways drilled from inside the house outwards...

That said... Once I was up in a gable end of a house fitting a dish, and it had been stone clad then painted. All I remember is a loud bang and a big flash, the next thing I knew I was hanging upside down from the ladder, a hole in the wall the size of a dart board and the entire village with no power... Fukkin stupid place to put the mains cable to the house

It had also completley melted the drill bit

95% of the time no, if your good you can tell from the tone off the drill bit as your about to break thru, you simply decrease the speed off the drill and the pressure, and bobs ya unc.
