They are the fucking bollocks. I would love to own one for a bit. I went out in the 192bhp 1.8 litre (as std ) and it was stupid.

Beautiful to look at, and autocar said the best front wheel drive car ever. A 200hp RST will muller it on the mway - but who cares - they are painfully cool.

Hi mate, if you haven't already have a look on www.itr-dc2.com and www.itr-dc5.com theres plenty of sticky threads discussing the differences in the uk and jap versions of the dc2 and other bits worth a read. I sold my dc2 a few months back and loved it, probably the best B road car i'll ever own. Real tight car, brilliant seating position, great brakes etc. As for tuning them it's not easy, a good exhaust-decat-manifold-filter combo with the right ecu or unichip should see 210bhp on a good day.

The dc5s are alot easier tuned, I've seen a few make 250bhp with the same mods meantioned above. I had a few drives in one last week and didn't know what to expect after hearing its much more softer and refined, but I was very impressed. Not the same vtec kick and the brakes are a bit poorer, but nothing a few mods wouldn't sort out. Definately a nicer car to live with day to day, much more torque down the rev range and it looks awesome.

Don't think you could go far wrong with either of them!

they are fantastic cars mate, Handle great! I went out in one at the weekend and it was amazing for a 1.8, the older version(DC2) is deffo the one to go for. Im sure a Teg could see off a lot more powerful cars down a B road.

Also mate, supercharging can be done, theres a supercharged one for sale on ITR-DC2.com at the mo. Just like supercharging any other N/A car reeli tho, a lot of work has to be done to do it properly and be reliable, eg lower compression, stand-alone ECU, exhaust, clutch and so-on...that would make a fantastic drivers car though.

edit: its a really old Ad lol http://www.itr-dc2.com/forum/viewtop...highlight=jrsc

i have a dc2 mate and it is the bollox i bought it cos i have a mint 3dr cossie and needed a fun car to use every day rather than bringing the cos out in the rain.
the best thing about the teg is the handling its awsome you just wouldn't believe a front wheel drive car could handle so well and to add to that it goes very well 0 to 60 takes 6.2 secs and it will do 142mph also revs to 8600rpm.
iv owned 2 now and iv never ever had 1 brake on me it really is a great car and i never thought id ever say that about a jap car.

Been there. Had one (X-reg in World Champ. White). Get one!!!!!!

9,500 rpm rev limit. Pulls all the way to it as well

Will also hit 145mph (on a private dual carriageway).

I had a DC-5 teg (51 plate) and it was the fookin bollox, except for my old evo7 it would be the only car I have owned that I would buy another. Not overly overly rapid but quick enough to have fun in, 100% reliable, handles superbly, comfy inside with nice Recaros, gearchanges awesome, good consumption, decent size boot, good rear seats (although headroom is limited in the back) etc etc.... The missus used to drive it as well without a problem and she even wants us to buy another one!!!!! Definitely worth considering as I think you can get them for about 10k nowadays!!

Here's my old baby!!

wiping the floor is a little strong imo but it also depends on driver ability but both are great handling cars

Handles better perhaps so, deffo on par with but no where near as fast as a CSL. I had a race with one on a private stretch of the new A130 to Chelmsford ( ) in the Teg and my arse got completely shat on after about 130! The CSL's are fookin rockets!!

get one from Southampton docks Ballin, you'll get a nice bargain. I SVA'd one for a friend a couple of months ago. All in including SVAing, registering etc it cost him a few quid under Ł10k! That was a 51 plate with 23k on the clock, was a Championship White one with the C pack. Also if you buy one before SVA try and get it as standard as possible as standard parts are quite scarce.

Although I commute to work I used it almost every evening and weekends and it was superb, very comfy with the recaros, aircon etc etc and all ya mates could get in the back! Sarah even used to use it and loved it. (we are buying one soon once house purchase goes through). its big enough to go away in but not overly big (if you get what i mean!). Servicing is ok and parts are available through Honda (although some Honda dealers don't like helping). Was only 1 recall on them if i remember but on mine was done in japan. Honda UK do honour it though (was only a washer type thing on the steering rack). Was a real head turner as well as most people have never seen one before!

Had a HKS exhaust and Injen induction kit on mine and the noise was lovely!! Not as quick as an S2000 etc but such a better all round car!

I've got some more pics of it all round/inside etc at home so will post em up later!

Cheers for the info Chris, I'm after a DC2 though my budget is Ł7k tops. Would rather go for a UK model as well even though the imports are a fair bit cheaper by the looks of it
