www.itr-dc5.com theres plenty of sticky threads discussing the differences in the uk and jap versions of the dc2 and other bits worth a read. I sold my dc2 a few months back and loved it, probably the best B road car i'll ever own. Real tight car, brilliant seating position, great brakes etc. As for tuning them it's not easy, a good exhaust-decat-manifold-filter combo with the right ecu or unichip should see 210bhp on a good day.
The dc5s are alot easier tuned, I've seen a few make 250bhp with the same mods meantioned above. I had a few drives in one last week and didn't know what to expect after hearing its much more softer and refined, but I was very impressed. Not the same vtec kick and the brakes are a bit poorer, but nothing a few mods wouldn't sort out. Definately a nicer car to live with day to day, much more torque down the rev range and it looks awesome.
Don't think you could go far wrong with either of them!
