Ive got 7k to spend on a new car but have no idea what to buy, I was looking at an evo 4

Have you got 7k in total to buy,insure and run...or have you got 7k to buy with a few grand put away to maintain,insure and run??? a big difference and needed to run a performance car...i saw a bargain on ebay the other day that i can highly recommend and was tempted myself,a impreza type ra with a start price of £2750 and finished with no bids,car was good as well...stage 3 cosworth acceleration up to 100mph with better handling

Is the car going to be driven everyday for commuting or a weekend fun time car?

Does the car have to take you to Tescos?

 

no car does not have to be used for tescos but will get used around 4 days a week

 

7K can get you a pretty decent WRX STi. Might even get one of the limited editions possibly an RB5 or dare I say a P1.

If you want something newer I suppose you could go for an Audi A3 1.8T or 2.0T quattro or Golf V6 4motion.

Theres a golf V6 a few doors away from me and it sounds fucking amazing and goes like fuck as well

a saph cossie will swallow ur 7k mate and then some !!! They are very old now sadly


as mentioned ul get a crackin scooby etc for the money and it will be more reliable and better handling

dont get a ford ffs, every thing else is better lol

 

finding it hard to get a good insurance quote on any imported car

 

spend £3500 on a saff and use the other £3500 to keep it on the road for the next 6 months!!

 

98 spec integra type r not as quick as some other suggestions but they do handle well and will be reliable

 

Been said but deffo a R32 GT-R imo, best bang for that kinda buck

 

id be looking at civic type Rs, integra type Rs or maybe the clio 182 if it were to be an everyday car

 

TBH if i was going out to spend 7 grand cash on a performance car it would have to be an e36 M3 convertible, i had one before, they're fantastic cars. Just make sure the historys with it. If not then walk away!!

Stage 1 (350-400bhp) Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R for me hands down

 

went out and viewed a few cars today, came back with putting a deposit down on a Evo 4 with lots of history and the owner is fitting 4 new tyres and timing belt.

Misses had a drive aswell and loved it ( she drives a colt czt )

 

Different. Wouldnt be my 1st choice, but a massively capable car.

Look on the MLR and search Insurance, theres a list a mile long. Good choice too, you will love it, but change the wheels

 

deffo going to be ordering a set of new wheels, maybe comps

Insurance sorted, im staying with Norwich union who have done me a very good deal

Ive got my Evo5 insured through A-Plan... they were the cheapest quote i had out of the 30 or so companies i tried sorry i dont have the number to hand tho.

Yep the last owner was in his 40's and loved it, he is a mitsubishi tech so that helps.

 

Never been in a 4. How do they compare to say a 6 or 8? Are the engines/power as good?

SOunds like guy was up for negotiation so hope you chapped him doen from £6500
