save your money and put it towards a car with a better engine in the first place. there's a reason that the rs2000 was made.

ever heard the saying "you can't polish a turd"?

harsh, but ultimately true. i wish i'd saved my money and not wasted it on shit little engines when the 'improvements' that you do make very little difference in the scheme of things

Stick it on a set of Weber 40 carbs and an after market ecu like OMEX or Weber Alpha and expect to see around the 155bhp mark.

You could even use a MegaJolt ECU, See AF Racing for further detials.

either way its a very cheap 35-40bhp and none of the fannying about and aggro you get with turbos.

Alternatively stick an ST170 motor in there on after market management and see around the 170-180bhp mark

neilm do you mean a set of throttle bodies with fuel injection and an aftermarket ecu, or actually carburettors and just an ecu for ignition?

i would not go near carbs in this day and age

Wish I listened to this advice and got my RS2000 earlier before spending Ł****s on getting my 1.8si upto 150bhp

I sold it as at the end of the day it was only a 5 door Si but it was quicker than all the other 5 door escorts in my area

Best way to tune a 1.8 is replace it with a 2ltr for starters!

Not mate.. I mean buy a set of 40's off e-bay for under Ł200... stick a MegaJolt on it... and fuel pressure regulator to drop the fuel pressure right down and bob is your firkin...

A very cheap 40bhp.
