Default TAPPING FROM 1.8 16v ZETEC!! What can i do???

hey all... my gf has a 1.8 16v zetec silvertop in her mk6 essy cab and think the wrong oil has been put in at some time... not too long back she was complaining of a sort of tappy noise so i checked the oil and yes it was low.. so topped it up but still taps... is it a sticky lifter?? or could it be something more??? would an oil change using the right gear sort it out?? or would it need something a little bit more than that??? only sounds like 1 or maybe 2 lifter??? any idea peeps??

CHEERS!!!

Apologies if I'm wrong, but if the oil was really low and the tapping is still there after oil has been added, the damage has already been done. It Could have done in the lifters, possibly more damage elsewhere.

I am no mechanic but that is what I presume would have happened
