Default Twin carbs for xr2...

Been thinking of buying some twin carbs for our xr2 track car... new set is quite expensive. Been looking at some recon second hand ones. Is it worth bothering? what is entailed? do we need to uprate fuel pump etc...?

If you want it for the noise then yes, but otherwise it's just not worth the hassle. Get a proper carb for it instead.

We just want to get the most power out of the engine as possible but dont want the unreliability of sticking a turbo lump in at the moment.

if you go on ebay you can pick up a set of r1 throttel bodies for 50 to £80
get a inlet manafold bracket made and if you want loads of bhp get a DTA ecu not cheap but the ecu itself can hold upto 300bhp plus and it controles everything

and you will need make a wireing loom for your car to go in the ecu sounds hard work but not that bad my mate use theses set up on their kit cars /westfields

you should easy pull 40 bhp plus
