Default Concreting in a driveway gate post - how deep??

I am gong to be buying some wooden driveway gates and fitting them my self, the gates weigh 20 kg each, one will be fixed to a post fixed to a wall the other will be fixed to a post on it's own
How deep will I need to bury the post on it's own to hold the gates weight and should I just concrete it in or hardcore at the base first?
Any help would be very much appreciated guys

Ya looking at paying somewhere around 2000 for it doing 6 inch deep. Thats for ya dig, skips, concrete, labour...

MATCOS

np. Remember, DO NOT be temted to put some concrete in the hole first thinking it will stop it sinking...it will sto moiture escaping out of the bottom of the post and will rot it... Also dont wrap the bottom in a bin liner like some old blokes do thinking it will stop it rotting
