RS Turbo aftermarket springs????
OK,
I have fitted an SSK1 Koni suspension kit to my S2. Now, the kit is suppose to drop the car by approx 25mm all round but, & here is where i think i have made a fopar!! The front now sits very low (almost 60mm drop i would say) & the rear is sitting at standard height, if not a little higher than standard!!
I think i may have fitted the springs on the wrong axles, front on rear & Visa versa. IS THIS POSSIBLE TO DO???? As i think i have managed it!!!
Any help much appreciated before i jack th car up tonight & change them all over.
regards
Andy

Rear springs are the wider and shorter ones. The rears would look very odd fitted to the front, so you would notice that, plus the front springs wouldn't fit in the coil holders on the rear.
The fronts have more weight on (engine) so will look lower than the rears anyway, but the rears will setle in a week or two once you've driven round and "worked" them a bit.
Again with the rears, the standard springs will be old and worn & sit lower than new standard springs. New lowering springs are even stiffer than new standard so will make the rear higher in the short-term, even tho they may be slighlty shorter.

It's a common problem for lowering springs to lower much more than they are supposed to. It's possible to shim up the front by placing washers between the upper spring cup and the streering thrust bearing.
The rear springs are the ones with much thicker coiling.
