Can be caused or brought on by many things, has to be specific to the actual illness as there are many different forms and also how the actual person themselves reacts to these things.

Worst and most common situation is that these illness's can go un or misdiagnosed for many years and then bad shit like that starts to happen

About 25/30 years ago a mental patient escaped from a place in NORWICH, NORFOLK.
A car with two young people was broken down in MOUSEHOLD HEATH, In Norwich, when the young man went for help, the pair had heard of the escape on the radio so were worried, the girl being left in the car heard a large thud then banging on the roof of the car, ans started screaming when the man on the roof of the car jumped off, holding the SEVERED HEAD of the boyfriend, which he had been banging on the roof of the car.
This actually drove her insane, she now in a mental institution herself.
This story has been handed down over generations, but by all accounts true ?

Dear god. Handed down over GENERATIONS, so how old is she now to still be in a mental institution? You say it like it was a legend from the 16th century, maybe it wasn't a Vauxhall Viva, it was a 2 seater Horse Drawn Cart? Save the stories for round the camp fire.

And the fact it even appears in that film urban Legend doesn't lend it much credence.

Ginge, it's perfectly normal to have the thoughts you are having. It's like being gay [so jaycos told me], you're only all the way gay if you push back.

Same with being mental, we all are! It's just no-one knows until we do something about it

Mental illness is commonly caused by having children with members of your family

yeah, the film urban legend is based on something that happened in norwich

its not a film on inbreeding is it?

seriously tho, thats the most common urban legend ever, and the location of it has been put to be all around the world, depends what gullible mug is being told.

maybe it did happen once, but i doubt it was in norwich

ive just worked out i first heard that urban legend when halloween night round a camp fire when i was in CUB SCOUTS !!!

and at that time my best mate was a kid called philip who also went with me and i heard it with,,,, hes family moved back to wales when i was in 4th year of junior school,,,, that would mean i heard the story back in 1988

meaning if it happened in the 80s,,,,then the story was jazzed up a little soon imo

btw the version in heard was the police told her to get out the car and not to look back,, which OBV she did and found her partners head making the banging

so iim with steve on this one,, as im sure norwich back in the 80s was farmland and just a small inbreed village who used to point at the moon at night shouting "whats that up theer"

and if it was in norwich then it would have been a tractor not a car

stress causes it i KNOW for a fact,, reason why is my cousin had a bad thing happen in her life and it turned her,,, and my other cousin has also lost it too from the situation with his sister

unfortunatly hes actually been put away due to him not taking his meds and being a little too violent than normal,,,, and he was always a nasty fucker when he lost it

he was bard from a pub years ago for glassing the bar manager for refusing to serve him after last orders,,,, and we all have picked him up from the old bill station after hes been done for either drunken dis or some other sort of fighting thing thats happened

when my god mum died 2 years ago,,, which was his mum he stopped taking hes meds and something happened that my god father wont talk about and hes been put in chase farm,,,, hence my interest i guess

hes sister is still alittle off but shes just freeky,,, shes like a ghost round the house if that makes sence,, you NEVER see her then every now and again shes there and she freeks me out big time,,,, but shes lost the plot due to a negative moment in life that either really got to her OR they both had some sort of mental illness but that triggered it perhaps

I work with people with mental illnesses, as has been mentioned drug/alcohol abuse is a major factor, as is stress ...(many people I have dealt with have been uni students, got too stressed and its tipped them over the edge...a fine line between madness and intelligence eh)

Something happeneing in your lifetime can also contribute....deaths of parents/close friends etc...

There is no definitive answer as to why somebody may go that way, lots of varying contributing factors etc etc. There is some scary shit happens though and ive seen it first hand, its not pleasant

One of the worst scenarios I was involved in was at a residential home where this woman had been on a downer for months. I got involved as I was working as part of the Crisis Team at the time, got a call out on a night shift at about 2am. Got there to find this woman gouging the skin off her body and throwing it at the walls!!

She later died due to extreme blood loss etc

rhys,, see thats the reason why i never payed attention at school,,,, thick cunts wont loose there mind

was reading last night about colney hatch paupers assylum aswell as betham nut bin too ( nick named bedlam,, where the phrase also comes from)

theres some real harsh stuff i found out

but not as bad as discovering that colney hatch paupers asylam 150 years later is now a luxery self contained private estate for the super rich with a gurded security access and 1millon quid plus apartments,,,,,, to pay 1 million quid for a apartment that the the poor used to get housed for free if they was mental makes me wonder

are the people who pay for them mad also
