hi i have a smoking problem when i start the car in the morning it smokes out the back blue smoke that oil i no but after it warms up and left runnig for ten min it clears up and then thers no smoke but if you hold the revs up about 6 000 rpm then it will start smoking agine and if you come off the gas after a few moments it stops smoking it only smokes if you rev it hard and in morning or once left for a few hours could that be stem seals or would that smoke all the time i cant see it being rings as oil isnt comieng up through the pisston ring when engine is off so oil is defo coming down from top or leaking out of turbo i disconected the turbo oil fed pipe and it still smoke so that ruels out turbo ....so is it rings or stem seals is ther any way of testing steam seals with out taking off the head
Not to up on this but you could do a compression test to try and rule out rings!, don't think stem seals are that bigger deal to change, so that be done after the compression test if all is well there, then see how it's getting on.
