I've just heard this story on Radio 2 Jeremy Vine and then read the letter in the Daily Mirror too - i'm rock hard and normally unemotional about things but this story made me shed a tear too - poor kid, only 20 and such a smart head on his shoulders, really touched a nerve with me this

Oh my god thats sad , i nearly cried there ! cough cough !

 

Sad stuff that but also makes me feel very proud of our armed forces.

 

Its a very difficult situation. Two weeks ago today i went to the funeral of a very good friend Jeremy Brookes, killed in iraq. Easy the hardest day of my life.
