First check fuse!!
Second check your fans DO actually work, by supplying them with 12v, direct to motors.
Next check supply on car fan switch in radiator bottom corner, it should have a live feed to one of the terminals when ignition on, if OK, then bridge these two terminals with wire and the fans should run(fingers!!).
If you have 12v supply at switch and the fans don't run when bridged(leave bridged) then turn your attention to the fuse box, and see if the fuse holder(fan fuse) has MELTED, it most likely has.
You NOW have TWO options, 1 to repair the ford wiring/fuse box problem, remembering that whatever caused the problem in the first place is STILL THERE, ie overloading due to bad design, OR make upo another sub loom just for the fans, which will be so much more reliable, and what most people do, 2 hours at most VERY simple to do, with override etc if wanted.
I switched mine negatively so that it can stay on after the car is turned off, but if the override switch is left ON it still turns OFF with ignition, if wired correctly.

Both Saph's I've owned have been anyway
Sorry if they are, thought they were live switched, was so long ago I sorted mine, I may be mistaken.
I am sure mine did NOT used to run when ignition switched off, they stopped, somebody had already made a hash of the wiring for them so maybe it was changed, to start with ?
Still the advice about the fuse holder and seperate circuit is std sort of advice.

Spot on advice regarding fuse box melting
Only put about fans being switched earth incase he was spending hours looking for the reason there was no live feed at rad switch, not picking faults with your advice m8
Fans on both my Saphs ran on after ignition was switched off untill temp dropped

No problem matey all advice is helpful, I never stop learning.
Obviously my car had been rewired a silly way, by previous owner/s I might add!!
The times I have tried to start cars and forgotten to put back in that vital piece, the ROTOR arm is amazing!!

had a similar problem with my fans i wired a switch in the dash and by-passed the sensor/switch in the rad completey....total control over the fans when u need it is the best way imo.still works of the original relay and fuse..

Check rad is the same temp all over when the fans are kicking in,common for rads to get blocked up
Rad should be almost same temp all over when fans running
My ones come on after around 3 minutes stopped, new rad etc all clear.
They do come on quite early and stay on for long time, I removed the air deflector on mine and it helped MASSIVELY.

to solve !!!get a kenlow thermal switch -insert the probe into the top hose and supply power(NEG/POSITIVE VIA A RELAY PREFERABLY )OR USE YOUR LOOM IF YOU HAVE POWER AND RETURN(EARTH)-set the dial to whatever temp u you req'r-water heats up sensor(probe ) picks up tempratuer and kicks in -job done forever and a day-guru7001/2 e bay-old school stuff AGAIN-LOL
