Default Spark plugs

A basic question for some of you. Are the 071 plugs ok to use on a 2wd cosworth running 13 psi? The car is currently got AGPR902P plugs fitted.

A FAR better plug to use at ths power level is AGPR12PP8, with a group a coil, way nicer, I have tried the ones you are using at the mo, then changed to the above and the difference is a LOT better all round.

Cheers tabetha,

Where is the best place to get them? I dont have a group A coil yet. Im off to the ring in the car soon and want to get the plugs changed before. Wont bother with a grp A coil untill after.

So the 071's better suited to a higher boosted engine?

Never used the 071, so would not like to say.
My advice is change the coil first, you will not beleive the performance increase, especially low down.
I get most of my stuff where I can from MATT LEWIS 01922 692424.
I am using MAGNECOR leads, AGPR12PP8, group a coil, the coil made a world of difference, if anyone had told me how much difference I would not have believed them.

A group A coil is money well spent, and they're cheap so go for it. I remember how pleased I was when my misfire disappeared when I fitted one

Does somebody knows what the resistance of the primary and the secondary windings of the grp A coil? Have it the resistance difference with the original coil?
I've got the dry coil but it 's not named grp A although looks absolutely like grp A coil.

The group a coil is just a BOG STANDARD LANCIA PART, or rather one for a lancia made by WEBCON.
There are loads of similar looking ones, but anything is much better tan the ford oe one which is only fit for the bin .

I bought the EPS 1.970.169. It's dry, with the similar resistance like std but has different the grp A plugs, looks like std coil plugs.

Hi there 071's will be fine very good plug for the money, quite widley used and reccomended by some top people as a good budget plug. As for a group A coil, I fitted one before I changed to wasted spark, cant say I noticed much difference either positive or negative but having said that I didnt have any problems with the std coil, as for plug leads the std beru leads are very good as long as there ok, if not I would go for the ford motorsport leads, available from lots of places, inc matt lewis msd etc.

Yeh, thanks for that information mate. That what i thought, sure a Group A coild is a good improvment over a dodgy standard one. As i have problems with my standard coil i will leave it.

The 071's are a motorcraft plug you get from ford. Mine were £12 for the four. I think they were fitted standard in the RS turbo engine.

Seem like a good plug. I gaped mine at 0.8mm.

Finis Number are 1120834

As for oil filter ask at ford again they will have them. I used silkolene pro S 10/50. I bought it from opie oils. His username is oilman on here. Seems like good stuff and i have only heard good things from guys on here and the guy who tuned mine.
