Strange....very strange...could be a dodgey one...

Like if it was one of the last ones made, why has it got a big turbo cam cover? Its probably not a genuine ford escort rs cosworth, rather a motorsport model built up from parts.

And why did he change the engine after 41,000 miles?surely a cosworth engine would last longer than this, even if it has been cained all its life.

Esc cos big turbo camcovers are the same as those on a sierra mate
Motorsport shells were only available in white, no sunroof, no electrics (windows, heated screen, mirrors etc) no sealant and water injection.
The shell type can be checked by the vin tag.

A cosworth engine would last longer than 41k, but he wanted more power i pressume As you can't get 500+bhp from a standard engine

If its a motorsport shell it will not have a sunroof!

No Sunroof
Rear quart glass does not "pop out"
Front windows are manual winding
Available in Diamond White only
No headlamp washer jets
No roof antenna
No stereo

If its built out of bits then registered as new with the dvla the vin no. will begin with SAB.

It tells you in the description that he's rebuilt the engine using a RS500 head. That's why it has the different valve cover. As far as it being a motorsport shell. Who cares. It's a shell and it's fast as fook and as long as it's legal drive it.

ah but you can fit the electric stuff to motorsport shells, have it resprayed and also fit the opening rear 1/4s!

could well be a motorsport shell built up with parts from a donor car!

also it does say it wasnt reg till 99 after being brought, o could have been sat in a garage somewhere!

Why would it? Just an engine after all isn't it

Also, when you upgrade to a 500+bhp engine, it ain't gonna be a modified standard one is it

Please think before you type

Also, motorsport shell don't have sunroofs, whole point of having a motorsprt shell is for strength, so it ain't gonna have a damn sunroof FFS

but you cana buy a motorsport shell cheeply - and fit a normal esory roof panel with sunroof - not hard at all really if you are looking at respraying it. and to geta loom and rear openes etc is not hard with the amount of broken oones about

The car was bought by a private collector and was not registered until it was sold, if i remember correctly.
edit: as i just noticed it says this in the ad

Also the engine was the original engine out of the A1 Focus.
