Default rear shocks

Hi

i have just bought a pair of bilstein rear shocks and having read the haynes manual it says to undo the current ones with the car on the ground. would it matter if i did it on axel stands as i cannot get under the car when on the ground.

thanks

No it would be perfectly ok, the thiung the manual is trying to say but does not is the wheel wil drop a bit so just put a trolley jack etc under each one in turn, under the flat section of each arm in turn, to take a little bit of the weight before you undo shocks.
