Default F**KING VIRUS

Adrian/Jamz have kindly furnished me with McAfee VirusScan, which I have run this evening. It hasn't shifted the bugger. I have just updated AVG and am trying again with that. AVG brings this window up, so I run the scan and it finds nothing.

I wish I could manually delete the file, but I dont know where to find it.

Any ideas??

Turn off System Restore, it's in there, hence the antivirus can't shift it

You should be able to do it by turning off your system restore feature, then turning it back on.
The above folder holds the roll back information for if you ever use System resotre.

I'm not, I forgot to put it on the CD

To turn off System Restore do the following.

Click on Start->Run then type "sysdm.cpl"

Now click on the "System Restore" tab.

Then tick the box that says "Turn off System Restore"

Now click "Apply" and say "Yes" to the following window

That should turn off System Restore and hopefully delete that virus. It might be worth running AVG or McAfee (whichever you have installed and updated) afterwards to see if it still gets detected but in theory it shouldn't.
